These cartoons emphasize the fact that politics in Greece today are absolutely not what they used to be in ancient times. Other than utilizing a completely different system of government, in what other ways do new Greek politics differ from those of the Ancient Greeks?
I think those cartoons are absolutely fantastic commentaries on what is currently going on in modern Greek political life. It's very interesting to note how the majority of the comical commentary comes from the mockery of Ancient Greece being in "ruins". My favorite example of this was the last picture depicting the circular rise and fall of Europe, all as a result of and at the expense of the Greeks.
